According to reports from NDTV, some IPL matches were illegally streamed on the Fairplay app, prompting the complaint by a broadcaster.

The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has already recorded statements from singer Badshah and the managers of actors Sanjay Dutt and Jacqueline Fernandez in relation to this case.

FairPlay Betting App

FairPlay stands as a betting exchange platform offering a diverse range of sports and entertainment leisure gambling activities.

Cricket holds the mantle as the most popular sport on FairPlay, closely followed by Football and Tennis, as per the app’s website.

All sporting events are live-streamed on FairPlay, allowing players to “watch and win at the same time,” as mentioned on the website.

FairPlay’s Mahadev Betting App Connection

FairPlay operates as a subsidiary application of the Mahadev online gaming app, which also facilitates platforms for illegal betting across various live games including Cricket, Poker, Badminton, Tennis, Football card games, and chance games.

The Mahadev betting app previously made headlines when actors Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, who endorsed the app, were summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning.

The app came under scrutiny after a lavish ₹200-crore wedding in the UAE last year, funded entirely in cash.

Operated by Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal from Dubai, both hailing from Chhattisgarh’s Bhilai, the company attracted new customers through the creation of new websites and closed groups on chat apps. Paid advertisements on social media platforms were also utilized to attract customers.

The ED, investigating the Mahadev app-linked money laundering case for over a year, alleged the involvement of high-ranking politicians and bureaucrats from Chhattisgarh. The projected proceeds of crime in this case amount to approximately ₹6,000 crore, as per the ED’s findings.
