Pori Moni Bail in businessman Nasir’s Case

Actress Pori Moni and her costume designer Junayed Bogdadi Jimmy have been granted bail in a case filed by businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud, director of a club in Savar. They were accused of vandalism and assault following an incident at the boat club.

On Tuesday (June 25), Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate M Saiful Islam granted them bail after they surrendered to the court earlier in the day and applied for bail. The judge’s decision came after a hearing on their bail application.

The case, which was initiated by Nasir Uddin Mahmud on July 7, 2022, alleged that Pori Moni, along with her associates, including Junayed Bogdadi Jimmy, engaged in disruptive behavior at the Savar Boat Club in June 2021. The incident reportedly involved alcohol consumption and non-payment at the club, leading to a confrontation where Nasir Uddin Mahmud was injured.

Following an investigation by PBI Dhaka district inspector Monir Hossain, the court received a report stating that the allegations against Junayed Bogdadi Jimmy were found to be true, while another associate, Fatema Tuz Jannat Bani, was recommended for acquittal due to lack of evidence.

The case also mentioned accusations of filing false cases against Nasir Uddin Mahmud to intimidate him, which were allegedly made by Pori Moni and her associates.

The court had earlier summoned Pori Moni and Junayed Bogdadi Jimmy after reviewing the PBI’s investigation report on April 18, concerning the incident at the Savar Boat Club.

The bail granted to Pori Moni and Junayed Bogdadi Jimmy marks a significant development in the legal proceedings surrounding this case, highlighting ongoing tensions and legal maneuvers between the parties involved.
