BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Returns from Umrah in KSA

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has returned home after performing Umrah in Saudi Arabia. He, along with his wife Rahat Ara, arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport via a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Jeddah around 12:35pm.

Speaking to reporters at the airport, Fakhrul stated, ‘I went to perform Umrah and prayed for the people of the country…I have nothing more to say now.’

Earlier, on May 5, they performed Umrah alongside some local BNP leaders and activists, offering prayers in Masjid al-Haram. They also offered special prayers (mujajat) for the peace, prosperity, and progress of Bangladesh, as well as for BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, acting chairman Tarique Rahman, and millions of party leaders and workers.

On May 2, Fakhrul and his wife visited Madina from Dhaka, where they paid their respects at the grave of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and attended Friday prayers in the Prophet’s Mosque. Subsequently, they traveled to Makkah on May 5 and explored various historical sites after performing Umrah.
