Dhaka, BD – 10 Jun 2024: The Israeli army launched an all-out attack on the besieged Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of 283 Palestinians, most of whom were women and children.
A statement reported, “Israeli occupation forces carried out eight massacres in the last 24 hours in the Gaza Strip. 283 people were martyred and 814 others were injured in one day.”
This brings the total death toll in the region to over 37,000, according to a report by the Turkish news agency Anadolu on Monday (June 10).
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that over the past eight months, the number of Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has reached at least 37,084, with 84,494 injured.
The ministry also mentioned that on Saturday, Israeli forces targeted the Nusirat camp in central Gaza, killing 274 people and injuring 698, many critically.
Israel has acknowledged the attack, with the Israeli army stating on Saturday that it had conducted a deadly operation in central Gaza and rescued four hostages.
“Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and in the streets, unable to be reached by ambulance and civil defense crews,” the Palestinian Health Ministry said regarding Saturday’s attack.
Despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire, Israel has continued its offensive on Gaza since the Hamas attack on October 7.
Over the past eight months, Gaza has faced severe shortages of food, clean water, and medicine due to the ongoing Israeli attacks, reducing much of the area to rubble.
The International Court of Justice has accused Israel of genocide, ordering Tel Aviv to immediately halt its attacks on the southern city of Rafah. More than a million Palestinians had sought refuge in Rafah before the May 6 offensive.
