Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has warned the United States of the increasing risk of World War III, accusing the West of “playing with fire” by supplying Ukraine with missiles that have been used to strike deep within Russian territory. Lavrov stated that such a conflict would not be confined to Europe and could threaten global security.
He also criticized the West for escalating the war in Ukraine by supporting Ukrainian incursions into Russian regions, such as Kursk, and said these actions were pushing the war to a more dangerous level.
Russian parliamentarian Mikhail Sheremet echoed Lavrov’s concerns, warning that Western-backed attacks on Russia were bringing the world closer to a full-scale conflict. Russian President Vladimir Putin has also promised a strong response to Ukraine’s actions, further raising international tensions.
